Web Deposit Form

The Web Deposit Form is an online form suitable for making small numbers of deposits, and requires no knowledge of XML. It can also be used to upload NLM- or JATS-formatted XML files.

When to use it: Use this method to register metadata for journals, books, conference proceedings, reports, and dissertations — especially when you have a small number of items to register and are not using OJS.

Basic workflow:

1. Go to the Web Deposit Form (https://apps.crossref.org/webDeposit/ ) and select the content type you want to register (journal, book, conference proceedings, report, or dissertation).
2. Enter the content information (for a journal, for example: journal/issue info, then add articles one at a time using "Add another article").
3. Log in with your Crossref account credentials, and add an email address to receive the submission log.
4. Click "Deposit" to submit — Crossref will process it and email you a verification log.
5. (Optional) Use the "supplemental metadata upload" .csv option to add funding, license, or Similarity Check URL metadata to existing DOIs.
