Tutorial for Authors to Enter ROR Affiliation When Submitting a Manuscript

This section explains how authors enter their institutional affiliation data using a ROR ID in OJS 3.3 during manuscript submission. This step is important so affiliation data is read correctly in the Crossref Participation Report.

Step 1 The author logs in to the OJS account of the target journal, then clicks New Submission to begin the manuscript submission process.

Step 2 At the Enter Metadata stage, scroll down to the Contributors section. Click an already-listed author's name, or click Add Contributor if the author has not yet been added.

Step 3 In the Affiliation field, type the name of the author's institution/university. With the ROR plugin active, the system will automatically display a list of matching institutions from the ROR database.

Step 4 Select the correct institution name from the list. The system will automatically fill in the ROR ID associated with the selected institution. Make sure the selected name is correct before continuing.

Step 5 Click Save to store the affiliation data, then continue the manuscript submission process to completion.
